 THESE COMPETITIONS ARE OPEN TO AMATEURS ONLY.  AN AMATEUR TO MEAN ONE WHOSE PRINCIPAL INCOME IS NOT DERIVED FROM PUBLIC PERFORMANCEOF THEIR TALENTS IN THE PARTICULAR CLASS THAT THEY MAY ENTER.

1. ENTRIES CLOSE  1^ST JUNE 2011 and must be submitted as set out in the official  entry form.  No entry will be recorded unless accompanied by the full entry fee, (including administration charge).   No entry fee will be refunded.
2. THE EISTEDDFOD COMMITTEE reserves the right to refuse any entry and may cancel any section if insufficient entries are obtained.  In the event of there being less than three entries in any section, only one prize may be awarded. In the event of there being only one entrant for Sections of individual items, the Committee reserves the right to cancel the section and/or transfer the entrant to another comparable section.
3. Competitors are requested to adhere to date and session allotted.
4. NO RECORDED BACKGROUND MUSIC OR DANCE ROUTINE NOT PERMISSIBLE - UNLESS specifically indicated in appropriate section. (GALA NIGHT/VOCAL GROUP SECTIONS).
5. NO ADULTS TO PERFORM IN PRIMARY OR SECONDARY SCHOOL SECTIONS.
6. REPEATING FIRST PRIZEWINNING ITEMS: No competitor or competitors shall give, render or perform, in two successive years, the same item with which they have previously won a first prize, either individually or in conjunction with any partner or group at any competition of the Yarram Eisteddfod Inc.
7. NO COMPETITOR MAY PERFORM THE  SAME ITEM TWICE during the Competitions. Competitors in duets and trios may only appear once in any one section.
8. NOVICE COMPETITORS shall not have won first prize in any Pianoforte/Instrumental/Vocal section of any  Eisteddfod for the past two years.  
9. OWN CHOICE ITEMS: Competitors may state on entry form the title of piece to be performed,  if known at closing date.  A COPY OF MUSIC  OR SCRIPT MUST BE PROVIDED FOR THE  ADJUDICATOR AND OFFICIAL ACCOMPANIST IF REQUIRED.  All books to be marked at appropriate page with the number of item.
10. BARS IN MUSIC: Vocal, Instrumental and Pianoforte sections to be numbered for adjudicator.
11. AGE LIMIT:  In all sections which are subject to an age limit, the age ON THE DATE FIXED FOR  CLOSING OF ENTRIES shall be deemed to be age of the competitor, and proof of age may be requested.
12. NO PROMPTING OR ASSISTANCE of any kind may be given except by the Adjudicator. (plays excepted).
13. COMMUNICATIONS WITH THE ADJUDICATOR EITHER BY COMPETITORS, TEACHERS OOTHER INTERESTED PARTIES DURING THE COMPETITIONS ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
14. MUSIC AND EQUIPMENT:  The Committee WIL  NOT be responsible for any goods left in the hall by competitors.
15. THE ADJUDICATOR HOLDS THE RIGHT to withhold any prize where insufficient merit was displayed.
16. PERPETUAL TROPHIES: These are held by the winners for a period of 11 months and must be returned to the Secretary by 30^th JUNE EACH YEAR.
17. PROTESTS IN WRITING must be lodged at the Secretary’s table within 30 minutes of the Adjudicators decision, and accompanied by a fee of $10.00, which will be forfeited if the protest is deemed unwarranted.
18. THE COMMITTEE RESERVES THE RIGHT to appoint a substitute Adjudicator for an announced Adjudicator, and to divide any section for programme purposes and also to alter any competition time if necessary.  Order of appearance on the programme may be changed at the discretion of the Committee.
19. COMPETITORS IN ALL SECTIONS must adhere to these conditions and any infringements may be considered a disqualification.
20. ALL ROYALTIES AND COPYRIGHT FEES payable are the responsibilities of the competitor.
21. PRIVACY ACT.  By lodging your entry you agree to your name and/or photo being published in our programmes and the publicity including the Yarram Standard News.  Any Competitor who does not wish their photo taken for publicity purposes should inform the Secretary of this fact before the Section commences.
22. THE DECISION OF THE COMMITTEE in all questions and disputes arising out of, or not provided for by these conditions, shall be final.  All entries received are subject to the proviso, and shall not be subject to any appeal at law.
